As Salem’s only stand-alone swim school, we are fully dedicated to helping create strong and confident swimmers.
The classes are 30 minute swim lessons, once a week, that encourage growth and confidence for swimmers as young as 2 months old.
Our compassionate and experienced instructors provide a safe and comfortable learning environment.
The indoor pool is 89-90º – ensuring year-round ease for our swimmers.
We provide a separated viewing area that keeps spectators safe and our students engaged.
The Salem Swim School Philosophy
Our swim lesson program is centered around a highly effective skill & safety progression for each level.
Our goal is to cultivate confident and successful swimmers in a positive and safe environment!
We believe that every child should learn how to be safe and skilled in and around water.
We feel that we have the great honor and privilege of teaching children a skill that can save their life.
Our goal is to keep building each week with simple steps that lead to long term success.
We know that a consistent swimmer who shows up each week and gives their best effort will be successful in learning how to safely swim.
Our Core Values
We listen and understand.
We treat each other with love, kindness, and respect.
We give our best effort every single time.
We are open to always learning something new.
We are on the same team. We are a family.
Our Classes
Lesson Process & Testing of Skills
You will always check in at the front desk on the iPad and grab your swimmer’s lesson wristband. Please arrive as ready as possible for your lessons – meaning the swimmer is wearing swim gear, goggles are on, swim diaper and Happy Nappy on (if necessary). Please use the restroom in the lobby BEFORE lessons; we keep the restrooms on deck available for swimmers and instructors DURING lessons. No glass is allowed on the pool deck.
Once you have checked in on the front desk iPad and your swimmer has their lesson wristband, you will head over to the pool building and enter through the first door on the right. Have a seat in the chairs and wait for your class time to begin. Your swimmer can start lining up at the gate a few minutes before their lesson begins. The Deck Lead will open the gate when it is safe to do so and help guide them to their correct lesson station. Please have your swimmer leave their lesson wristband on.
Please stay in the “Spectator Waiting Area” while your swimmer is in the pool. Please stay off of the stairs and fence. Avoid opening the safety gate to let yourself onto the pool deck; this ensures that our students stay engaged, our deck is clear for staff, and that siblings are protected from the risk of falling in the pool or general injury. When the class is over, the Deck Lead will let the swimmers out through the exit gate near the changing rooms; this is where you will meet your swimmer at the end of class. Please be quick and courteous about getting ready to leave.
Each class will have a designated class skill chart with all enrolled student’s names listed on the laminated card. This is where we track student’s skills and specific notes regarding your swimmer.
We evaluate our students based upon our “Lesson Station of the Week” process. We typically have 4-6 lesson stations set up so students are evaluated at minimum every 4-6 weeks.
This is by far the best and only place my kids will go to learn to swim! Every single person, from instructor to staff personnel, are so amazingly helpful. My son is still getting the hang of swimming and with my work schedule and adjustments we've had to make for him to learn best, they have all been beyond patient and helpful with whatever changes we've needed to make. Knowing I'm taking my son somewhere where they really care about the kids, keep them safe and do all they can to help them learn is almost beyond words. Thank you so much Salem Swim School for everything!

I’m giving Salem Swim school a 5 star because they are a great swim school! All the instructors are friendly and knowledgeable. My son absolutely enjoys his class time. And is improving very well.
Only thing I do not like is no make up classes.

Before coming to Salem Swim School my daughter had had an experience so bad from swim classes at the Kroc that it left her afraid of the water. After just a few lessons at Salem Swim School my daughter wasn't scared to go in the water anymore, and a few more lessons after that and she practically became a mermaid in the water, dipping her head all the way in and floating unassisted. The instructors are caring, understanding, and gentle with the children and the owner has amazing communication when you have any questions. I will be recommending Salem Swim School to everyone I possibly can!

The staff are very helpful and inviting. The pool is a great space, warm and clean. No excessive chlorine smell or feeling on your skin. The instructor was super great with my son.

What a great swim school! Staff are amazing, patient, attentive, and kind. My child went from refusing to get his hair wet to diving right under and showing me his skills. He’s so proud of himself, and we are too! My little one is absolutely loving his parent/tot class as well, and is learning the foundations of becoming a proficient swimmer.

So glad we found Salem Swim School! We started in the Baby and Me classes and they helped me get comfortable being in the water with my son. He’s now in the Tot class and having so much fun! I loved that classes are rolling admission and on a month basis so you can start and stop when it works for your schedule. They use fun games and songs to teach foundational skills and help the kids love being in the water. All the teachers and staff are so kind and helpful too. We will definitely continue coming to Salem Swim School for our future swim lesson needs!
