What do we do when we arrive for our first lesson?
Please arrive 10 minutes early for your first lesson. You will check in at our front desk and grab your swimmer’s lesson wristband. Please arrive as ready as possible for your lessons with swimwear on, goggles ready, swim diaper and Happy Nappy on, if necessary. Please use the lobby restroom BEFORE your swim lessons.
Once you are checked in at the front desk and you have your swimmer’s lesson wristband, you will head over to the pool building and enter through the first door on the right.
My child wants to be in a class with a friend. How can we make that happen?
As long as there are spaces available in the class, and the swimmer’s skills are similar, then we can make that happen! Please use our Swimmer Portal to complete registration for your swimmer and then enroll in the appropriate class.
What if my child will be absent for their lesson?
We send “check in” texts to swimmers that aren’t present for their lessons so we always suggest sending a text to let us know that your swimmer will be absent. We do not offer makeup lessons at Salem Swim School. When you pay for your lessons, you are paying to reserve the time and day regardless of your swimmer’s attendance.
What if my child’s lesson day/time isn’t working out for us?
Not a problem! You can change your class day or time as long as there is availability. Just stop by the front desk before or after your lesson or give us a call and we can do our best to help you find a solution.
What if we need to change our lesson days or times frequently?
It’s best for students if they’re able to have consistency with their lessons. We can’t guarantee that we’ll have a spot in a different class, but please stop by the front desk before or after your lessons or give us a call and we will do our best to help find the right solution. You are not able to move your swimmer in the portal; our team must do it on our end.
What happens when we go on vacation?
Please let us know if you will be missing classes and we can mark your student absent. You will still hold the spot in the class and won’t lose your place in that class unless you choose to withdraw. We do not offer make ups, credits, or refunds.
Do we have lessons on holidays or when schools are closed?
Please check our “Closure Calendar” section under the “Parents” tab in our drop-down menu for specific dates when the school is closed and lessons are cancelled (your monthly fees will be prorated to reflect the number of classes offered that month).
How do I figure out which level or group my swimmer should start in?
Please reference our skills chart found here. Classes are also broken up based upon age. Preschool includes 3-5.5 year old swimmers. School Age includes 5.5-9 year old swimmers. Older includes 9+ swimmers.
What happens when my child moves up to the next class or group level?
If your swimmer graduates a level, they will receive a gold star sticker for their Certificate of Achievement. If your swimmer graduates a group, they will receive a prize from the treasure chest. Our team will reach out to move them into the next group. You can always check your swimmer’s skills on the Jackrabbit portal.
Do I need to stay in the building during my child’s lesson?
All swimmers under the age of 18 need to have a parent or guardian present during lessons. As soon as your swimmer’s lesson is over, our Deck Lead will help guide them out of the pool through the exit gate where you will meet them. Please remember to stay in the pool building throughout the entire lesson.

REGISTRATION & BILLING FAQs
How do I withdraw from lessons?
All withdrawals MUST be submitted by the 25th of the month BEFORE tuition runs for the next month on the 1st. There is a late withdrawal fee of $30. There are no refunds or credits given for processed tuition. Please fill out the lesson withdrawal form here.
How do I register and enroll in a class?
Click here and you will be redirected to our swimmer management portal, JackRabbit. This is where you will register your swimmer, sign policies, pay tuition and enroll in classes.
How do I pay?
You will enter your credit or debit card information when you enroll in classes. You will be charged a prorated tuition fee for the number of lessons that will take place in that given month. Your card will stay on file and will be billed automatically on the 1st of every month for tuition. Lessons are perpetual, meaning that your swimmer is enrolled in the same class day and time, thus tuition billing is perpetual as well. Please reference the “Tuition” page here.
What payment methods do you accept?
Electronic payments (credit and debit cards) are the only payment methods accepted by Salem Swim School. You are responsible for making sure your form of payment remains current. Should your form of payment lapse for any reason, your student(s) may be withdrawn from classes at the sole discretion of Salem Swim School. Third party payer arrangements will require a form of payment from the primary party to be on file.
What if I don’t want my credit card or bank account billed directly every month?
To reserve your swimmer’s spot, a credit or debit card must be on file with our billing system. Please see the front desk if you have any issues or concerns with billing.
How is my monthly payment calculated?
Payment is based on the amount of classes in that month (Ex: Most months will have 4 classes, but some may have 5 classes depending on how many weeks are in that month). Also, if your class falls on a major holiday, such as Memorial Day or July 4th, that class won’t be billed that month as Salem Swim School would be closed).
